OBJECTIVE:
Get through a lot of seasons & kick some friendly ass

General rules
  • Ultimate goal is to have the game be as fair to us and the CPU as possible - dont be a dick
    • Don't exploit anything that is broken on or off the field. Don't do anything the CPU can't
  • All user vs user games to be played if possible.  Users have the ability to choose whether they want to play or sim their CPU games as they see fit.
    • Understand things happens and real life is a priority… sometimes we need to sim user games too, ideally ~75% of all user games are played
  • Majority to all communication will likely go thru discord
  • Rule changes can be proposed at any point of the season by posting to discord for all the review, and will be voted on after the super bowl
  • League memberships to be capped at 16, No additional users will be added without the alignment from the entire league

League Advancement
  • The League Primarily is a Sim league, stopping mainly for key moments & user matchups
    • Pre Season: Following the draft, we stop 24 hours for Pre-Season Week 1 then sim to Preseason Wk 4 to trim rosters for another 24 hours.
    • Regular Season: only stop for Season Moments (scouting assignments, trade deadline, etc) and weeks with user matchups, and sim thru the rest
      • For stops for season moments, the league will advance after 48 hours or after everyone ready’s up (whichever come first)
      • For stops for user games, the league will advance either after all user games are complete or after 48 hours (whichever come first)
      • If a Season Moment and User game fall in the same game week, the season moment will take priority
    • Playoffs: Once all user teams are eliminated from the playoffs, we will simulate the remainder of the league calendar to the offseason
    • Off Season: the league only stops for 24 hours or after everyone ready’s up (whichever come first)
  • List of Weeks for Key Moments we plan to stop:
    • Week 3 - Regional Scouting
    • Week 8 - Trade Deadline and National Scouting
    • Week 11 - Prospect Highlight
  • League Advancement Calendar can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Nq6vwlqS6W6tJfAPZIFxQYoo54-yl5MaF_2RDkikCs4/edit?gid=1934005014#gid=1934005014

Each User is a Coach
  • Coach your games as a coach would run a real life game.
    • This means not running the same play over and over again, not dropping back 25 yards with the QB to make a throw, not putting the DE’s all the way outside, etc
  • RB/WR direct snaps and trick plays are part of today’s game; however excessive use of these plays is considered cheese and will not be tolerated. Stats will be checked periodically looking for any kind of abnormalities

Gameplay
  • All games have 6 minute quarters on All-Pro difficulty
    • All other game rules and sliders are set to default
  • 4th Down Rule: You may go for it if the difference between winning and losing hang on that 4th down conversion. Make your call as if you were a coach in a real life game.
    • Don’t EVER go for it if you are up by two possessions or more. Respect your opponent, whether you are playing the CPU or another user.
    • 4th down conversion from punt formation is allowed just one time per game
  • Onside kicks Only allowed if down by 3 or more possessions in the 3rd quarter. and down by 1 possession in the 4th quarter
  • Sliders (both gameplay &XP) were set by the league to adjust the game play, mitigating for unfair balances by the CPU and make the game more Realistic.
    • League Commissioners tested and adjusted sliders, and can continue to adjust based on approved requests from the league members
  • Training Injuries are turned off

CPU Games
  • Users are allowed to play their preseason game vs the CPU, one regular season game, and if they make the super bowl vs a CPU can play that game

Restarts
  • For User Games
    • If a restart happens in a user matchup, the two users can decide how to handle the restart.
    • Suggestions to help, the player winning the game has the right to decide:
      • Score reset: If a player is leading by 14 when a disconnect occurs, then the player who is losing must begin the restarted game by giving the player who was winning 14 points. You don’t need to make the score for both teams the same, only ensure the score difference stays the same.
      • Time carriage: The person who was winning may request that the game only be (4 minus X) quarters long, with X being the number of FULLY COMPLETED quarters in the disconnected game.
        • i.e., if there is 1 second left in the third when the disconnect occurs, then the follow-up game can be shortened to 2 quarters.
        • If the former winner requests this, they CANNOT change their mind once the game starts under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
        • After the designated number of quarters is over, the loser of the game should leave, and the winner should super sim when possible, only interfering to save the game. If the winner loses to the computer, it is their responsibility to message the commissioner to let him know to throw out the results. The Commissioner will confirm with the other player that he got his chance to win.
      • If for any reason if the score of a game is 17 points or above (3 positions) and the users disconnect, the winning team will have the choice to continue vs. the CPU or give a retry of the game.
  • For CPU Games:
    • Only One Regular Season CPU game is eligible for a restart (for whatever reason)
      • If a second restart happens, the game must be simmed
    • All Other CPU games are no-restarts
    • CPU CFB Playoff game are excluded from any/all restarts
    • Any user that advances to the conference championship game vs a CPU will SIM that game, in alignment with previous rules

  • No restrictions on future years draft picks (i.e. next year and year after)

Draft Day Format
  • We will stop for each pick in the first round, and then sim between user picks for all succeeding rounds
